<p>The Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) is a vital programme that bridges the gap between classroom theory and workplace practice. We connect students with industrial placements, monitor their internships, and ensure they gain practical, hands-on experience that prepares them for successful careers.</p><p>Our mandate includes coordinating industrial placements for students, monitoring internship progress, maintaining partnerships with industry employers, and ensuring that students gain meaningful work experience that complements their academic training.</p><p>With a dedicated team of industrial coordinators and workplace supervisors, we provide comprehensive support to students throughout their industrial attachment. We are committed to producing graduates who are not only academically qualified but also practically experienced and ready to contribute to the workplace from day one.</p>

Dr. Oriko, B.O

Director, Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme

Dr. Oriko, B.O. is a distinguished industrial training specialist with extensive experience in workplace learning, internship coordination, and industry-academia partnerships. He holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Relations from the University of Ibadan and has led numerous initiatives to enhance the quality of industrial training programmes. Under his leadership, the SIWES Directorate has significantly expanded industrial placements, improved internship monitoring, and strengthened partnerships with leading employers across various industries.
